About Our Dog Obedience Training Classes
With our one-on-one training program, your dog will learn commands like sit, heel, come, leave it, and down. We also teach basic obedience training, so dogs will learn not to jump on guests or bark uncontrollably. Our trainers work progressively, allowing dogs to build familiarity with commands and obedience skills while on-leash and off-leash. They’ll also be able to obey despite distractions like other dogs or people.
For pet owners in and around Springfield, VA, our staff will work with you to ensure we’re meeting your needs during training. Before the program starts, we’ll ask you to complete a questionnaire detailing your training goals and any behavioral challenges you’re dealing with. We also complete an initial assessment of your dog to help us evaluate their progress through the program.

It’s never been easier to get started with dog obedience training from Silverbrook Kennels! We ask that your dog’s shot records be completely up-to-date prior to their stay with us, with vaccines administered by a vet, animal hospital, or animal clinic. For dog training, pups must have the following shots:
- Rabies
- Canine Influenza
- Bordetella (must have received vaccine at least 14 days before training)
- Distemper/Parvo
Please note that while these vaccines are required, Silverbrook Kennels does not require pups to be spayed or neutered.
