Hello, my name
is Lynn Scott. When I realized Trish was compiling information for her
web page, I asked if I could say a few words pertaining to my experience
with Silverbrook Kennels.
In my quest to find a well-bred
lab and training program, I contacted NAHRA. I was given the number for
a local gun dog club in Michigan. Through recommendations by members of
the Michigan Retriever Association, I contacted Trish Jagoda of Silverbrook
Kennels. Trish informed me of a litter of puppies sired by her stud dog
FC/AFC/MHR Westwind’s Bold Tiger. Her sister-in-law had a puppy available
in this litter, so I arranged to have him shipped to me from Virginia.
After attending several hunt
tests sponsored by the Michigan Retriever Association, I began to realize
the importance of a well-trained dog. I once again called Trish and made
arrangements to enroll "Simba" in her gun dog training program.
When "Simba" arrived, I was
informed he was lacking in many disciplines. Together we agreed on the
steps we would take to progress. "Simba" was with the kennel for two months.
When I arrived to pick him up, I was amazed with the progress. I couldn’t
believe it was the same dog! "Simba", was well underway towards running
Intermediate NAHRA hunt tests. "Simba" attained his WR that first year
and his SR and MHR the next year.
The training he received
at Silverbrook Kennels was the best foundation I could have ever given
him. I firmly believe that anyone seeking gun dog training would be missing
the boat if not contacting Silverbrook Kennels.

Dear Trish, Chuck and all,
Hi! So many times I've
thought of you all and wanted to drive down with Jessie -- of course, it's
always on a Sunday or Monday cause those are my days off, as they are yours
-- so it just hasn't worked out.
Still, I think of you all
often and want you to know how great Jessie doing. I live in a condo
community of 13 buildings and about 550 condos...so we are really packed
in tight here. My neighbors are always gasping and commenting on
how "good" (well-trained) she is! I tell them she went to you for
5 weeks and I'd visit every Saturday. Because there is a leash law
here, she still wears her collar so I can respond that "she is on a remote
leash" when people ask, "where's your leash?" But I seldom need to
use the correction buttons. She's 1 year and 3 months now and today
I'm riding up to watch the Therapy Dog International certification process
at Capital Dog Training Club in Silver Spring Maryland . I may take
her in to go through the good citizenship certificate ... we'll see.
She LOVES to play will ALL
the other dogs in the neighborhood, and she LOVES babies and all human
life and my cat. She joyfully chases squirrels and becomes still
and alert when she hears geese -- it's mesmerizing to watch her.
I'm in the middle of kitchen and bath renovations right now, but will look
into Agility this spring for her.
Thanks so much for all you
all did! It was such a relief to know she was with a consistently
secure, commanding and tender, very loving place for her to be trained
and to stay while Dad was hospitalized. She is so overflowing with
joy that she makes me and all my neighbors smile; it is clear a trained
dog is the happiest dog! THANK YOU!
