Silverbrook Kennels accepts dogs five months of age or older for gun dog training. All dogs participate in basic obedience whether enrolled in gun dog training or advanced competitive work. It is necessary for a solid obedience and collar conditioning program be instilled before more advanced disciplines are taught. Owners are encouraged to begin training lessons with their dogs in the second week of the basics program, just the same as basic obedience. We concentrate strongly on good handling skills and positive dog/handler relations. We offer private training lessons by appointment while your dog is enrolled in gun dog training because we feel it is just as important for you to understand how to work your dog as it is to learn the specifics of the process we are teaching. We concentrate heavily on your handling skills related to the level your dog is currently learning. You progress as your dog progresses. We suggest that you attend hunt test handling clinics, and various training clinics hosted at our kennel, or in conjunction with your retriever club in order to continue to advance your personal handling skills. Silverbrook Kennels offers a unique approach to dog and handler relations. We truly care that you are successful handling your own dog when training is complete
Please call and make an appointment to meet personally with Trish to discuss the best training program for your dog’s individual needs.

"When I asked around about training I heard the same names over and over, Trish Jagoda and Silver-Brook Kennels. Now I see why. The accommodations are first class, and the training is second to none. I can't thank you and Matthew enough. We will recommend all of our friends, two legged as well as four, to Silverbrook." |
